The reproductive print

Many people assume a reproductive print is one about how to have babies, but in fact it is one that reproduces a famous work of art and makes it accessible to many people that may not otherwise be able to see the original.
The National Gallery of Victoria’s exhibition, Picture to Print pairs some of the original works with their reproductive print. The gallery’s Pamela paintings which are illustrations for the novel are shown alongside a series of reproductive prints which further illustrate the story and show the skill of the printmaker. I have not read it, but according to some, the story Pamela is one of the all time most boring narratives told in three volumes, but in the exhibition you get to see the story in a few pictures and hey, that doesn’t seem too bad.
